VIDEO: I’m Here (2010)

If one filmmaker in the world turns everything he touches  into gold, it must be Spike Jonze. Not only is he responsible for music video milestones like Daftpunk’s Da Funk, Beastie Boys’ Sabotage or Fat Boy Slim’s Weapon of Choice, also does his filmography read like a (very short) book of “how to make good films”. Four feature length films – Being John Malkovich (1999), Adaptation (2002), Where the Wild Things Are (2009) and Her (2013) – the latter just about to hit cinemas in January 2014, and none of them short of amazing!

I’m Here (2010) is one of Jonze’s short film projects, which had its premiere at Sundance Film Festival and later entered the competition at Berlin International Film Festival. It was funded by Absolut Vodka and features the music by American band Sleigh Bells.

The story is based in futuristic Los Angeles, where robots and humans life next to each other. Protagonist Sheldon (Andrew Garfield), a depressed robot with a head shaped like a PC tower meets Francesca (Sienna Guillory), a pretty and rebellious robot girl. But her clumsiness might mean the end of their relationship…
